Recently Draped the City Now Drape Volunteers’ Shoulders
TRAVERSE CITY, MI, May 12, 2008 – priorLIFE, a newly formed subsidiary of banner manufacturer Britten, Inc., today announces the delivery of its first recycled banner bags. The city of Winston-Salem, NC accepted delivery last week of 150 banner tote bags to distribute to volunteers from the recent Davis Cup by BNP Paribas quarterfinal between the United States and France, hosted by the United States Tennis Association (USTA) in Winston-Salem. The bags were created by recycling several building wraps and banners that welcomed the team and fans to the city on April 11-13, 2008.
“Bob Dobinski ,
President of Corporate Communications, initiated
the idea with the Winston Salem local organizing committee and the
USTA to recycle these event banners into chic, one-of-a-kind tote
bags for the event volunteers,” said Pam Klumpp, director,
priorLIFE. “The banner bags not only give people a chance to carry a
piece of that event with them, they give companies and organizations
the opportunity to be environmentally friendly.”

tote bag design included the
“What a
great surprise!” said Davis Cup volunteer co-director Harold
Pollard. “I had a fabulous time during my week at the Davis Cup and
to have this stunning tote bag to remember it by is wonderful.”
Event
volunteers included drivers, greeters, hospitality workers, ball
persons and coaches, team valets, production assistants, media
coordinators, office support staff, community artists and
entertainment personnel.
“The week was special due to the energy and enthusiasm of the volunteers,” said David Cup volunteer co-director Doug Roberts, “Commemorating their experience with this special bag while knowing we weren’t contributing to the landfills was a smart solution.”
